About the joke of “or I’ll give you your money back” Knowing Pastor Robert, he said it because he knew people would taste and see what the Lord says about testing Him is true after they start relying on God. I strongly suggest not to talk about something you’ve never tasted before, but for those who tested God (as He said we could with our tithings in Malachi 3:10 ) I can assure you, it is true what he said about the consequenses. I’ve seen, with my own eyes, this church deliver goods all over the world and use their money wisely to reach people free classes, conferences, books, concerts, outreach supplies, etc. I’ve been involved with Gateway Church for almost seven years now, directly and indirectly as I helped a hispanic church who sent missionaries to South America to preach the Gospel and help ministries. I actually watch their services as He was called to be my Pastor for this season of Rest after years of ministry. People open the door to the devil and then they cry because he stole from them. And David, who was God’s heart desire and to become the anointed one didn’t dare to touch Saul recognizing God’s authority over him. Don’t forget Saul wasn’t God’s heart desire, but he was His will and anointed one. I am very clareful of bashing someone who could be anointed by the Lord. When I have a problem with a Pastor, I go to the Lord in private and present my confusion/complaint to Him. I am careful with who I listen to, because the Lord places a Pastor in your life and not all the time is because of the Pastor, but to test your obedience. He who is faithful will little will be faithful with more.Ībout Pastor Robert, I’ve been blessed with his teachings, as well as with Todd White, Bob Hamp, Kris Vallotton and Bill Johnson. He also showed me a pattern of debt in my family, one I am finally breaking free from. It wasn’t that I didn't have money, I just didn’t have my priorities straight and God was showing me that. I also noticed my clothes, food and car gas last longer and I became wiser. Then I started noticing opportunities started to appear free financial classes, more working hours, a better job with less work but more income, an opportunity to go back to school and be able to finally get my certification to work on what I love most. When I started tithing I did it as an act of obedience, but I complained I didn’t have money left, I still did it. I’ve seen people who were christians, tithed and then left the church have their lives destroyed, not because God cursed them, but because they removed themselves from God’s umbrella (protection) it is a natural consequence of their actions, just as if you don’t don’t drink water, you will die in a few days. I believe tithing is not only an act of obedience but also of trusting God as I realized it is not my work who sustains me, but God himself and His promises. I’ve been tithing for years, not only money, but also my time, and I can tell you of how blessed I’ve been by trusting God. It’s easy to take small takes of a sermon and change the whole message to prove your point.

Read more under Breastfeeding… Bottle Feedingīottle feeding is often commenced when there is a tongue tie – whether with expressed breast milk or formula. A baby tired by unsuccessful sucking efforts will fall asleep on the breast and later awake unsatisfied, thus prolonging the feed time without fully satisfying the hunger. Sleep deprivation will affect both mother and baby. Repeated difficulties at this time can interrupt or delay bonding. A baby who does not feed well is likely to fall into this category.īreastfeeding is an opportunity for a calm and satisfied baby to interact with the mother in a way that builds a strong bond between them. ‘Failure to thrive’ is the term used to describe babies who have poor weight gain, are fretful and difficult to settle. The appearance of both the tie and the tongue generally becomes more conspicuous and even ugly, as the child grows older. Habits of mouth breathing, aerophagia and forward tongue position become entrenched, and are easily noticed and less excused in the teenager or adult person. Salivary profusion due to inadequate coordination of swallowing during speech becomes both visually and auditorily obvious. The tie or frenum may extend to the lingual margin causing notching, or spread along the floor of the mouth in a fan shape reaching towards the incisors and causing discomfort or actual pain on activity. The tie itself can vary from a thin elastic membrane to a thickened, white non-elastic tissue. If the frenum does not reach the lingual margin this typical heart shape may not be apparent, although function of the tongue may still be significantly impaired.Īs the child grows older, the appearance changes and the tongue may look square, or bifid, or thickened and too large for the mouth, so that it curls up at the sides. The tongue may look small, rounded and indented in the midline with a heart-shaped look. On first observing a neonate with tongue tie, the cosmetic appearance of the tongue and the tie will stand out. The following sections provide more information on some of the little understood side effects of tongue tie. Tongue tie in the elderly often makes it difficult to keep a denture in place.Emotional factors resulting in rising levels of stress.Dental health, a tendency to have inflamed gums, and increased need for fillings and extractions.Effects on social situations, eating out, kissing, relationships.Protrusion of the lower jaws, inferior prognathism.Difficulty talking after even moderate amounts of alcohol.Inability to speak clearly when talking fast/loud/soft.Inability to open the mouth widely affects speech and eating habits. The specific challenges an adult with a tongue tie may face include: Thus it is seen that the consequences of unrepaired tongue tie do not reduce with time – instead, more difficulties are experienced as time passes. The areas of difficulty spread to include social and domestic situations, self-esteem, the work environment, and dental health. What adults have to contend with is very much the result of old habits of compensation for inadequate tongue mobility.

Rogers was sentenced to death in Florida after a jury convicted him of killing a woman in a Tampa motel. He was captured in Ohio in November 1995, weeks after O.J. Rogers began a cross-country killing spree that included about 70 female victims after the Simpson and Goldman murders, the film said. Los Angeles prosecutors matched a shoe print taken from the scene to the sole of an expensive Italian shoe they contended O.J. Simpson, who was waiting in his car nearby, walked onto the bloody sidewalk to check Rogers’ work, thus leaving his footprints at the crime scene, Meoli said. The documentary includes a graphic re-creation of how Rogers described the attack to Meoli. The attack happened on steps outside, though, when Goldman unexpectedly arrived, he said. Simpson told him about a spare key to the condo hidden outside the door, according to Meoli’s description of Rogers’ account. “Glen told me that O.J.’s instructions were that ‘You may have to kill the bitch,’” Meoli said. Simpson had hired him to break into his ex-wife’s condo to steal diamond earrings he had given her. Their mother wore the pin, at her son’s request, at one of his murder trials, Rogers said.Ĭriminal profiler Anthony Meoli, who exchanged dozens of letters with Glen Rogers and visited him on death row, said Rogers explained to him that O.J. The brother also claims that Glen Rogers took a gold angel pin off of Simpson’s lifeless body and mailed it to his mother in Ohio the next day. “Actually, what he told me, he says, ‘They got money, they’re well off and I’m taking her down.’” “Glen told me, when he called, ‘Guess who I’m partying with? Nicole Simpson,’” Rogers said, describing a call he said happened just a few days before the killings. One job took him to Simpson’s house as a painter, it said. Glen Rogers was a drifter in 1994 when he arrived in Los Angeles after the Northridge earthquake to work on a repair crew, according to the film. Much of the documentary’s support for the claim that Rogers killed Simpson and Goldman came from statements he purportedly made to his brother. “Nevertheless, in the interest of being thorough in this case, our robbery homicide detectives will investigate his claims.” Rogers was involved,” Commander Andrew Smith said. “The LAPD is quite confident that we know who killed Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. Is this a confession?”ĭavid Monaghan, the film’s producer, did not immediately respond to a CNN request for comment on Goldman’s criticism.Ī spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department said the department would investigate Rogers’ claims but does not believe he was involved in Simpson and Goldman’s killings. “I’m disappointed at the way this story was handled. “I am appalled at the level of irresponsibility demonstrated by the network and the producers of this so-called documentary,” Kim Goldman told CNN. Ronald Goldman’s sister lashed out at the Investigation Discovery channel and film producers. A screaming Glen Rogers, packed in the Los Angeles Coliseum, all confessing in unison, would not absolve O.J. Simpson for deliverance from their crimes. “Now every guilty person prays to the altar of O.J. Simpson was acquitted was a travesty of justice that tarnished the criminal justice system,” he said. “The overwhelming evidence at the criminal trial proved that one, and only one, person murdered Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman,” Goldman said in a statement to CNN. “I know my brother did it because I’ve seen proof that he was there.”įred Goldman, the father of Ronald Goldman, immediately rejected the film’s contention. “I’m absolutely certain that my brother Glen killed Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman,” said Clay Rogers, who narrated the film “My Brother The Serial Killer,” which will debut on the Investigation Discovery channel Wednesday. He told investigators at the time that he had killed at least 70 women, police said. Glen Rogers, who has been sentenced to death for murdering women in Florida and California, was arrested in November 1995 – a month after Simpson’s murder trial ended – and charged with killing five women in several states. Simpson was tried and acquitted in the June 12, 1994, stabbing deaths of his ex-wife and her friend, although the actor and football legend was found liable in a civil wrongful death trial. Simpson waited nearby, a new documentary claims. A death row inmate told relatives and a criminal profiler he killed Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman while O.J. But you may not know that if Hoover sticks. By: Catherine Angle, DVM Staff Veterinarian at Pet Poison Helpline There have been a couple of questions submitted regarding the safety of cinnamon and nutmeg. Wrappers can become lodged in your dog’s throat or intestinal tract, requiring surgery to remove them. This sugar substitute, found in some human foods and dental products, can be poisonous to your dog. A pet would need to ingest a very large amount of nutmeg, and this is very unlikely to occur if a dog or cat ingests food with nutmeg in it. In addition to the risk of candy, the wrappers can also be an issue. Large quantities of hard candies and gum can clump up in their stomach and cause a risk of stomach obstruction. Your veterinarian’s treatment goals will likely include the correction of hypoglycemia and the prevention of developing acute liver failure. There is no known antidote for xylitol intoxication. If full-blown symptoms of hypoglycemia appear, your dog must be treated by a veterinarian until the animal’s blood glucose is back to normal.įor many small breeds, xylitol poisoning can be fatal without early veterinary intervention. If detected early enough-within two hours-affected dogs can be made to vomit. After this stage, signs of liver disease develop. The blood-sugar drop (hypoglycemia) that results can cause weakness, stumbling, collapse, and even seizures. Ingestion causes a massive insulin release. When a dog is exposed to Xylitol, it damages the dog’s liver, and clinical signs of “intoxication” (poisoning) can develop in as little as 30 minutes to an hour. Call your vet or emergency vet immediately if you believe your dog consumed xylitol. Dogs are increasingly at risk for potential exposure to xylitol since it has been showing up in more and more products in recent years, even some not labeled as sugar-free. This ingredient is often found in sugar-free items, such as sugar-free gum, candy, and baked goods. Xylitol is a sugar alcohol commonly used as an artificial sweetener that is toxic to pets. The biggest concern with candy ( that isn’t chocolate) is the risk of the ingredient xylitol. So, your dog ate candy? The first thing to do is to figure out what type and quantity of candy your dog ate. But unlike other German loanwords, schwarmerei isn’t all doom and gloom. Though less common in English prose than many of the other words on this list, schwarmerei is another word we’ve co-opted from German. “Boy,” he marvels, “those Germans have a word for everything.” After that episode aired, we saw a steady increase in the written use of schadenfreude in English. In an episode that aired in October, 1991, Lisa explains what schadenfreude is to Homer, who is gloating at his neighbor’s failure. Schadenfreude was favored mostly among English-speaking academics until the early 1990s, when it was introduced to more general audiences by The Simpsons. In short, the feeling was unworthy, and therefore so was the word. Why the late adoption into English? Early citations for the word in English indicate that schadenfreude was thought to be a shameful defect first of Germans, and then of humanity in general. It was popular in Germany: discussed by Schopenhauer, Kant, and Nietzsche, as well as used by Goethe, schadenfreude shows up in psychology books, literature for children, and critical theory for over 100 years before it appears in English. It’s a compound of the German noun Schaden, which means “damage,” and freude, which means “joy.” We know that the word was in use in the mid-1700s in Germany, where it appears in a few books with tales intended for children. That broad smile on your face as you pass the scene is a result of schadenfreude.Ī popular lookup on our site, schadenfreude is a noun that refers to the joy you might feel at another person’s pain. Five minutes and one mile down the road, you see flashing lights: the jerk’s been pulled over for reckless driving. They race up behind you and nearly rear-end you, then speed off up the shoulder. Cutting people off, riding people’s bumpers, even splitting the lane to get mere feet ahead of everyone else. There’s this jerk who’s weaving in and out of stop-and-go traffic in bursts of 50 mph. Weltschmerz was borrowed into English in the 1860s and while it has lost its direct tie to 19th-century Romanticism, it does retain a bit of the formality of its original uses. The word was popularized by Heinrich Heine not long after, who moved the word’s meaning away from active loathing and toward sentimental apathy. It was coined by the author Jean Paul-born Johann Paul Friedrich Richter-in his novel Selina, where he used it to refer to Lord Byron’s disaffected loathing for the world. Weltschmerz, or literally “world-pain” or “world-weariness,” first appeared in German in 1827 and was born out of the melancholy and pessimistic Romantic literary movement taking place in Germany at the time. I have included some words with very slight spelling variations, and noted the variations between English and German.“Werner Herzog, who understands more than just about anyone the terror of a cold and irrational universe, got some mileage out of remaking Nosferatu in 1979 by keeping what worked in the novel and in Murnau’s 1922 film and leaning heavily into the vampire’s weltschmerz.”Ī feeling of sentimental sadness or pessimism the weariness that comes with knowing that the world is going to let you down no matter what and there’s nothing you can do to stop it: this is what the Germans succinctly call Weltschmerz.
